    Ant-Man

Description of 'Ant-Man' in the list 'Luckiest Marvel Characters, Ranked'Scott Lang is a skilled programmer with good parkour skills and a kind heart.

Why Is He So Lucky?Everything that happens to Scott in the MCU stems from his luck. He gets the Ant-Man suit, beats Yellowjacket, survives the Quantum Realm, and avoids Thanos's snap. He stays alive while using a broken suit for a whole film. Almost every move he makes is a gamble, yet he always wins, even if he looks foolish doing it.

Luckiest Moment:A rat triggers his return from the Quantum Realm, letting him help the Avengers save the universe.

    Baby Groot

GrootBaby Groot is a separate being from the first Groot shown in the MCU. Baby Groot is the younger form of the current Groot.

Why Is He So Lucky? From meeting Baby Groot, his luck is clear. As he dances near a giant monster fight, he avoids getting trampled while not seeing anything around him. This continues for his whole life, including almost wiping himself and his friends out because he ignores Rocket's orders.

Luckiest Moment:He randomly pushes the right button on Rocket's device, helping defeat Ego.

    Star-Lord

Star-LordPeter Quill is an average Earth kid until space pirates pick him up. His dad hires them, or maybe not, because Ego is a crazy monster. However, head pirate Yondu has a good heart and trains young Quill to be decent, though he barely survives most of the time.

Why Is He So Lucky?Star-Lord is one of the most irrational, emotional, and unskilled heroes in the MCU. He is lucky to have capable friends. His rough charm wins over fighters and thinkers better than him, making people think he belongs in the hero game despite the proof to the contrary.

Luckiest Moment:The universe is saved despite his stupidity.

    Roger Harrington

Luckiest Moment:He avoids firing after a child seems to die under his watch.

    Mantis

MantisWe know little about Mantis except that she has empathic/telepathic powers that change moods.

Why Is She So Lucky?MCU Mantis acts mostly as a tool. She helps Ego sleep at night. After joining the Guardians, Mantis mostly just quivers in the corner. Mantis wins fights beyond her power, yet she has not been defeated.

Luckiest Moment:She rides the shoulders of a universe's most powerful being. She messes with his mind. Then he tosses her aside as payback.

    Black Widow

Who She Is:Natasha Romanoff trained in the Red Room to become one of the deadliest spies globally. She defected from her home country to join S.H.I.E.L.D. and then the Avengers.

Why Is She So Lucky?Romanoff escapes General Dreykov's hold, unlike most Black Widow agents. She finds people who treated her like family in the Earth's Mightiest Heroes. She escapes death from apocalyptic threats more times than any normal human should.

Luckiest Moment:During the chaos of the crashing Red Room aerial base at the end ofBlack Widow, Natasha recovers the names of all Black Widow agents needing help to remove mind control. After that, she pulls anAssassin's Creed-style leap of faith and jumps out of a flying base falling from the sky. She fights the Taskmaster while plummeting through debris, slowing her descent just enough to land, and keeps fighting for her life. She should not have survived that.

    Hawkeye

Who He Is:Clint Barton is a very good archer.

Why Is He So Lucky?Hawkeye faces aliens, robot hordes, and powerful supervillains. He uses a bow and arrows for all of them. He fights beings much stronger, holding his own by hitting them with his bow sometimes. The fact he rarely runs out of arrows shows his luck.

Black Widow proved she is a master spy and manipulator who stays alive through her mind skills. We never got a reason to think Hawkeye is anything but a guy with good aim.

Luckiest Moment:He survives an alien attack and becomes an Avenger.

  • 8
    Ned Leeds

Who He Is:In the MCU, Ned Leeds is Peter Parker's best friend. He is smart. He becomes Peter's "guy in the chair," though others take over the role quickly.

Why Is He So Lucky? If Ned never befriended Peter, Peter would not have needed to save him. Still, bringing the Chitauri Energy Core and getting into supervillain fights is not smart. Luckily, Peter is always there to help. Even in his "guy in the chair" role, he acts like a fancy Siri. The AI in Spidey's suit or the spies and superheroes who want Peter alive handle that job.

Luckiest Moment:Ned Leeds experiences his best friend getting superpowers.

    War Machine

Who He Is:Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes pilots well and has a strong military career. That is fine. His biggest asset is his genius best friend.

Why Is He So Lucky?Rhodey would have had a great career in the armed forces without a suit of armor. But without Tony Stark's help, he would not join some of the universe's biggest fights. Even after using his gift wrong several times, his friend still lets him update his armor.

Luckiest Moment:Tony gifts him a suit of armor.

  • 10
    Mysterio

Who He Is:Quentin Beck engineers cool hologram tech for Stark Industries. He got fired, which makes him seek revenge.

Why Is He So Lucky?Beck is smart. He is also lucky because he found many other smart people to help with his revenge plan. They still back him up even after he threatens their lives. Without them, his holograms would not work.

Beck fights Spider-Man, a much stronger foe. Beck holds out for a time. He fools S.H.I.E.L.D., a pair of smart aliens, and genius Peter Parker.

Luckiest Moment:His entire plan goes smoothly, including unmasking Spider-Man after his death. This seems like pure luck.

  • 11
    Grandmaster

Who He Is:A mysterious, powerful being controls an entire planet with a playful but hard grip.

Why Is He So Lucky? We know little about the Grandmaster (or his brother, the Collector) in the MCU. His comic book version is old and strong. In the movies, he is just a dictator with cool tech. We never see his powers or learn how he bends a planet to his will. Add his distant and clumsy nature, and it is strange he keeps power and survives.

Luckiest Moment:When he talks his way out of being killed by a planet full of people he ruled (assuming his survival is canon).his survival is canon).

    Vision

What It Is:Vision is complex. The MCU skipped origin stories, avoiding old or messy material. They rushed introductions. On the surface, Vision is an AI mixing Jarvis, Ultron, Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, and the Mind Stone. It wears a vibranium alloy body powered by the Mind Stone. This gives him seemingly endless power.

Why is Vision so lucky?Vision's origin makes little sense. All these elements combine to form life, not just superhuman life, but also solid morals. Vision has a laundryVision possesses a list of superpowers.Vision has skills, none of which he earned. His worthiness to lift Mjolnir seems like a plot device because we never learn why he is worthy. Both Thor and Cap must prove themselves for this distinction.

    Luckiest Moment:When he is born.

  • 13
    Odin

Who He Is:Odin is the father of Thor, Loki, and Hela. He rules Asgard for most of the MCU timeline.

Why Is He So Lucky?Odin, like most Asgardians and neighbors, has many powers. His essence, the Odin Force, bears his name. Yet, every choice he makes is bad. He constantly plots and schemes, causing more damage than Loki. He hides his cruel past acts and rebrands himself as a fair, wise ruler, kicking his child out. Odin still plays games, showing where Loki truly gets it from. People or his family tolerate him only because of his huge power.

Luckiest Moment:Every time one of his silly and dangerous plans fails to harm him.
