The Marvel Cinematic Universe is an adaptation at its core, one that's grown to take on a life of its own. But it's rooted in Marvel Comics, which is full of unique characters, locations, events, and superpowers. Even iconic heroes like the Avengers have secret powers and abilities that aren't well-known unless you've read the comics. The MCU often explains superpowers in pseudo-scientific terms, but the Marvel Comics universe doesn't hold back, offering a wide range of special abilities that can be mechanical, magical, medical, or just plain mysterious - and often differ from their movie counterparts.

T’Challa is Wakanda's rightful king and the Black Panther. This grants him the heart-shaped herb and powers: strength, speed, agility, and durability. His vibranium suit lets him absorb and shoot out kinetic energy as purple power.
T’Challa of the Marvel Comics universe holds another important regal title, complete with impressive superpowers. The comic book Black Panther is.He is also the King of the Dead.As the ruler of Necropolis, he can talk to and sometimes command the dead.
The Black Panther often uses this power to consult ancestors, visiting the ancestral plane often in the MCU. In comics, he can resurrect people, make ectoplasmic weapons, and command the undead, even leading zombie armies to defend his home.

Natasha Romanoff of the Marvel Cinematic Universe does not need superpowers to be the Black Widow, a founding Avenger. Romanoff uses her training, cunning tactics, and tech gadgets to handle any threat.
Things change for the Marvel Comics Black Widow. That version of the character was born in the late 1920s. She met Captain America and Nick Fury in WWII. The Red Room recruited her, injecting her with a modified Super-Soldier Serum. That character was born in the late 1920s. She met Captain America and Nick Fury in WWII. Then, she joined the Red Room program, where they injected her witha modified Super-Soldier Serum. This cloning kept many identical 'backups' so the original Black Widow would survive for decades more.
During a major superhero crossover, Natasha died. She woke up in Russia with all her memories. She found out this happened because ofThe comic book Peter Quill is not Ego's son; he is J’Son of Spartax, an ordinary alien with only slightly more durability than a human. This kept the original Black Widow around for decades.

The MCU Star-Lord’s half-Terran/half-Celestial body gives him no clear superpowers. He can only hold an Infinity Stone longer than most people, unless he connects to his planet-sized father.
Comic book Peter Quill is not Ego's child. He is J’Son of Spartax, an ordinary alien maniac. He has no special abilities besides being tougher than a human. But the Marvel Comics Star-Lord is very powerful, no matter his parents, becausehe is also the Master of the Sun..
Quill's Master of the Sun status, a relic from his early comic adventures, reappeared during a near-death experience. Trapped in another dimension, Peter recalled being chosen by the last Master of the Sun, a being of huge cosmic importance, to take that role. After connecting with his true potential, he returned to Universe-616. There, he rejoined the Guardians of the Galaxy and showed off many new solar powers, such as becoming a living power plant and feeding endless energy into his Element Guns (or his plant friend, Groot).

Being one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s brightest minds is a superpower itself. Therefore, the MCU Shuri already qualifies as a superhero, even without special abilities from her brain or the cool tech she builds. The original Shuri is also super smart, even by comic book standards, but she is much more than just that.
Shuri’s new set of superpowers is recent, but it shows a wide variety. This develops from her past eating the heart-shaped herb. Visiting the Djalia, a transcendent plain, let Shuri connect with Wakanda’s memory. From that visit, she gainedShuri possesses many unique abilities.. As the Aja-Adanna, keeper of Wakandan lore, Shuri alters her size, turns to stone, and raises the dead. She transforms into a flock of blackbirds or one giant blackbird.
242 - 5

Peter Parker’s ability to "do whatever a spider can" is well-known as a superpower, especially since it appeared in the theme song. In the MCU or elsewhere, he possesses the strength, speed, and agility of a spider. He also sticks to walls, swings on homemade webs, and senses danger through his spider-sense/Peter-tingle.
However, the MCU has not shown the whole "he’s got radioactive blood" side of Spider-Man’s powers. In the comics, that radioactive blood—a result of a bite from a radioactive spider—gives Spidey long-term immunityfrom nearly all poisons, diseases, and infections. Spidey can still get poisoned, but the toxin leaves his system fast before any lasting harm occurs.
This immunity even covers vampirism. Parker survives a bite from Dracula’s hordes without becoming undead—something useful amidst the vampire-filled pages of Marvel Comics.
242 - 6

The sole surviving Marvel Cinematic Universe Valkyrie shows strength, speed, and durability exceeding the average Asgardian. She also holds a sword of unknown magic and a flying horse. Comics show a Valkyrie's power set is much more literal and frightening.
Whether the Valkyrie role is played by Brunnhilde, Rūna, Dani Moonstar, or Jane Foster - the latest to take up the mantle - they must ferry the spirits of the worthy dead to Valhalla. This job requires a sixth sense. It lets them see the death approaching. This appears as an inky, foreboding bubble floating over their heads, growing more ominous as the end nears.
Sometimes, Valkyries cheat fate, popping death bubbles before they reach critical mass. Sometimes, they do not.
200 - 7

Wanda Maximoff has plenty of power. She has too much. In Marvel Comics or the MCU, the Scarlet Witch constantly changes her powers. She started with simple hex-bolts and mind-witchery. Then she evolved to complex Chaos Magic and outright reality alteration. She can change the world around her as she wants.
The comic book Scarlet Witch uses this skill set. She alters the reality of a small New Jersey town, or the entire universe on a whim. This is not just reality she commands, but also time itself.
The Scarlet Witch rarely shows her time abilities, but they match her reality shaping in power. She can slow, stop, or reverse time. She can travel through time, pulling people from the past or future as she pleases. Audiences assume she cannot do this in the MCU yet. Otherwise, she would have already taken Quicksilver and the Vision before their deaths.
193 - 8

The Super-Soldier Serum made Steve Rogers, who was scrawny, Captain America. Howard Stark’s vita-rays combined with this formula gave Rogers super-strength, super-speed, and better durability. Still, this left him less than the Marvel Comics Cap.
In the comics, the serum also gave Rogers a set of super-learning powers. He takes in and processes information much faster than an average human. He keeps it forever with an eidetic, photographic memory. These abilities let Cap master new weapons in seconds. He can use hundreds of military tactics for any situation. He can search hundreds of pages of official Avengers documents in minutes.
Rogers reads super-fast. He prefers using his sharp mind for visual arts. He showed a natural talent for sketching. Rogers even worked as an artist on his own comic book for some time.
193 - 9

Thor Odinson possesses superpowers in the MCU and Marvel Comics. He has huge super-strength. Thor can fly. He wields a magical hammer. Thor summons lightning whenever he wants. He survives nearly anything, including a star's full force. Thor teleports across the universe by using the Bifrost.
The comic book Thor has more. One surprising gift for Thor is...“Super Breath.”This power lets Thor blast hurricane-force winds from his lungs. He uses this to send a powerful chill at foes or launch them miles away.
This power hasn't been used much since Thor started. Perhaps this is because it sounds like an ability better suited for a certain Man of Steel.
185 - 10

Hulk remains tough to beat, even tougher to slay. MCU's Bruce Banner ate a bullet; "the other guy" spat it out. These are just some items that should have slain "the strongest one there is," but they failed due to his gamma durability.
The Marvel Comics jade giant takes invulnerability further. This is especially true now that he is the Immortal Hulk. This is not just a nickname; the Hulk truly avoids death. Like all gamma-mutates, the Hulk istied to the Below-Place– a source of all gamma radiation – and goes there after he dies. He returns through its mysterious “Green Door.”
Since that discovery, the Hulk has been melted, decapitated, disintegrated, and cut up into jars. His bulky body then reforms completely, as if new.
148 - 11

One major theme inThe Falcon and the Winter Soldieris that Sam Wilson does not need superpowers to be Captain America. His worthiness comes from inside him. He needs only truth, justice, and a vibranium shield—plus a Wakandan-designed wingsuit with a built-in jetpack.
The Falcon first appeared in Marvel Comics. The Red Skull and the Cosmic Cube changed his history. They made him the perfect sidekick for Steve Rogers, planning for Wilson to betray Rogers, a scheme that failed. One change gave Sam...the power of avian telepathy: the ability to mentally talk and command any birds, including alien ones.
Redwing is a real falcon in the comics, not a drone. That is why Wilson almost always has significant bird backup.
147 - 12

Captain Marvel is near the strongest hero in the MCU. Audiences saw Carol Danvers destroy Thanos’s fleet easily. She fought the Mad Titan one-on-one. She took a punch from the Power Stone with no visible damage. The MCU Captain Marvel is tough. We do not know if she has comic superpowers. She has a healing factor that puts Wolverine’s to shame..
Danvers’s powers evolved in the comics. She changed from Ms. Marvel to Binary to Warbird to Captain Marvel. She gained the ability to recover from serious wounds, illnesses, or injuries almost instantly. She rarely gets hurt enough to need this.
This superpower is useful. You prefer having it and not needing it over needing it and not having it.
135 - 13

The modern MCU Bucky Barnes has a Super-Soldier Serum knockoff in his veins. He has a Wakandan vibranium bionic arm strong enough to rip an armored truck open. It absorbs energy, insulating him from falls hundreds of feet.
Comic book Barnes got enhanced by the Infinity Formula. This works like the Super-Soldier Serum. Bucky still has the bionic arm the Soviets gave him. It is not vibranium. It holds extra power. The arm instinctively measures distance, angle, and velocity. This feature ensures perfect accuracy for anything thrown or shot from the arm.The arm automatically reloads any weapon it holds without Bucky needing to think about it.
If he playsCall of Dutyhe gets accused of hacking.

Groot surprises people because of his self-description. In the Guardians of the Galaxy films, his adult form produces glowing spores, regenerates body parts, and extends his limbs greatly. After dying and starting his growth cycle again, Groot stays small—infant or adolescent—until he ages naturally.Guardians of the GalaxyComic book Groot can enlarge himself by will. He needs soil, sunlight, and water to grow. He has few size limits and can grow to huge heights, trading punches with Galactus and other tall figures. He is a member of the Flora colossi race from Planet X, living up to his name.comic book Groot.
